Start A Blog!
If you're anything like me, and I hope you're not for your mental sake, then you might have thought about starting a blog for many many years but just couldn't get it rolling. Maybe you're the lazy type, like me, and would like to spend those few minutes of down time plopped on the couch. Especially after a long day of dealing with a 2/3 year old. Wait, whats down time when you have kids?
One of the best things I could have done for myself was to finally take that first step and start my online business. It was something that I had always dreamed of doing but just never felt motivated to do so. The hardest part is starting, and I encourage you to do it too. You don't have to be great, or have a million page views, but at least you can say that you did it and that is the most rewarding part.
Ok now lets get back to business!
If you haven't already, Figure out your niche!! Do you have something in mind already? GREAT! Not sure? thats ok too.. tbh I wasnt exactly sure if I had a niche. I wrote down everything I was interested in and interested in blogging about and went from there. The Domain name I settled on was Megdarcey.com. Choosing the perfect Domain name can be daunting. I played around with a lot of different names, before settling on my own name. The reason I did this was because I thought about what I wanted the future of my blog and online business to be. I wanted to brand myself, and found that it would be easier to connect with my readers if they knew me better on a personal name basis. So think hard about where you would like your blog to be in a few years, but also try not to get hung up over it, it can keep you from starting your dream if you think about it too much. You can always re-brand!
I strongly recommend that you start off with a self hosted wordpress blog. You can start with a free platform like blogger, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you plan on monetizing your blog, a self hosted blog is the way to go. Most sponsors and advertisers shy away non self hosted blogs. Also, from what I hear it can be a nightmare to later transfer to a self hosted blog.
Heres a quick list on how to get started:

Dont worry about adding any of the suggested plug ins at this time.
